"We had DeShano Companies replace a wraparound porch and add a deck to our cottage in Northern Michigan last summer. I did a lot of shopping around to find a contractor. I am a trial attorney who has litigated more than a hundred construction disputes and know the questions to ask and the things to watch out for. With that background, I cannot say enough good words about DeShano -- Jeff Zettel worked with us through several plan iterations until we finally settled on the scope of work. The specs were complete; the price reasonable and fair; its workers showed up on the day DeShano said they would; it completed the job within the original schedule; when the job was done, the Job Superintendent, Scott Hillier, pointed out some things that should be redone that we did not even notice; DeShano did those things quickly and without complaint; and the quality is exceptional. "A very professional builder. They are full service company that starts the process with a concept, design, material selection and finishing with project management to home completion. They have full time sales staff that works with you to come up with a design that meets your needs and budget. Another huge plus is that they have material show room onsite that allows you select every detail for the home. But if want to chose other options that they don’t have on-hand they are very accommodating. They have a very detailed contract that really spells out exactly what you are getting from day one. If you do have a change during the build they are very organized at documenting the changes and the costs or savings to the initial contract. The contract does also contain a completion date which is monitored and adhered to. Using DeShano to build our house was really stress free for us and you don’t often hear those words about building a home. The bottomline is DeShano’s entire staff from top to bottom are professional and organized. If we were to build another home DeShano would our first and only choice."

"Very good!!! I was very nervous about undertaking this project but it has always been a dream of mine to build a home. This year I turned 75 and it was our 50th wedding anniversary July 5 so there's no time like the present. It took us quite a while to find a house plan that would work out on the property and something we could afford. We had an estimate from another company and they were beyond our budget and so when we approached DeShano we really were a bit apprehensive. We came to our appointment with plans in hands, thinking we may not be able to use them and would need to use a DeShano plan. Wow, we were thrilled that it was in our budget and decided to move forward. I have heard horror stories about having a home built but we had so much fun and found the whole experience rewarding.
